Hmmm, did you check the MD5 on the installer? I have never seen that exact behavior, I would try again with a fresh installer.

Howdy - trying to install community on Ubuntu 10.04. I've done it before but this time it failed. I installed the required packages in the installation guide including an old version of libstdc++5 from a debian repository. I've tried to install twice but get the same error with different results:

PATH: /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
Java error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/rapid7/nexpose/util/JVMValidatorQP€
Using jre at _jvm
PATH: /usr/local/sbin:/usr/local/bin:/usr/sbin:/usr/bin:/sbin:/bin:/usr/games
Java error: java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/rapid7/tools/updater/PendingUpdateMerger
When I crash it I get this java error:
^CThe Java virtual machine is exiting with code 130

Suggestions?
